How do I keep my best friend from getting an eating disorder?I'm trying to recover from anorexia and I've noticed that he keeps calling himself fat and eating less. It's really scaring me, because I don't want him to go through that hell. And I've heard (from friends and from my therapist) that if someone has an eating disorder, it could make people close to them develop and eating disorder. So... yeah I'm really scared for him. =(
How do I keep him from hurting himself like I did?

Tell him about your experience and that you're concerned. Encourage him to speak with a therapist or psychologist.
I've heard that showing the person a photo of themselves helps for some reason. Supposedly, the person with an eating disorder sees themselves fat in the mirror, but somehow can see how thin they are in a photograph. Some doctor on T.V. said that, maybe it's wrong. Just a thought!
